Class overview
| title | description |
|---|---|
| 20′s Charleston | A solo Charleston Routine for beginners. No Partner Required. |
| Basic Shag & More Shag | Beginning Shag
Burning up the floor Basics Collegiate style! Collegiate Shag is a style of swing that was the rage with all the college kids in the 1930′s. It was fast and furious, wild and crazy! (For those times anyway) Kids dug it because it was a blast and Mom and Dad hated it. We will start with the basics and work our way into some more difficult material. It is a class designed for raw beginners and for students with some experience as well. It is a great opportunity for dancers who have only been exposed to a limited amount of Collegiate Shag More Shag All Go With Lots Of Show! Guaranteed to have you soaked or your money back. This is where shag gets crazy. Traveling come into the mix here which allows for my favorite thing to do – mess with those proper Bal dancers. ;-) Nobody is safe after the moves in this class are revealed. This class is designed for those who are advancing from the earlier beginning class or already comfortable with the basic shag footwork (as it will not be covered). Learn break variations, quick kicks, drags, and traveling. Burn up the dance floor as you show off your new bag of tricks! |
| Blues Basics | Great for the beginning student, and as a refresher for the more experienced student. We’ll cover all the fundamentals like your posture and connection as well as teach you some great moves to get you dancin’ the Blues in no time! |
| Blues For Breakfast | Feeling a little slow and sexy? Take it nice and easy as Kristin and Cory show you how to wake up with the blues – in a good way! |
| Combinations, for the not so faint of heart (Int) | We’re going to be taking our Bal-Swing to the next level with some combinations that will shed a little light on all the possibilities we have in this amazing dance. You will need to be very comfortable with the basics of Pure Bal and Bal-Swing. |
| Don’t Call It East Coast Swing | The focus of this class will be 6-count basic movements and turns. Its Lindy without the swing out. |
| Double Bug | Double the Fun (Beginning Double Bug)
Ready for something different than your regular old Lindy Hop Classes? Looking for a new challenge? Try dancing with two partners at once. Developed in Sweden, Double bug is a Lindy Hop dance done with two follows for every one lead. Wow, no more follow heavy dances! The class is suited for those with no Double Bug experience but can complete Beginning to Intermediate Lindy Hop footwork already. We will start with the Basics and build up into more challenging moves. Follows this will help the age old problem of not enough leads. And leads – two partners at once? What’s not to like? |
| Drop in Sendout Tuneup | This class will showcase the three types of Balboa sendouts and their main variations. Focus will be on good technique which is common to all sendouts. |
| Easy Lindy U Can Use | Well – the title pretty much says it! Kick off Camp Swing 2011 with some embraceable lindy steps. |
| ECS/Lindy Fusion | So you know a little lindy but just can’t seem to make it thru a whole song? This class will show you some tricks to blend your East Coast and Lindy together. |
| Hustle | Kick back to the 70s and learn some disco moves! This class will teach the basics of the New York Hustle for leads and follows including the starter step, standing and turning basics, underarm turns, check step, continuous coaster step. Get your Disco groove on, come and learn the Hustle! |
| Intermediate Balboa Musicality | Add depth, texture, and musicality to your Pure Balboa and Bal-swing with some great footwork variations and syncopation fundamentals. |
| Introductory Balboa | Never done Balboa before? Or, kinda know that basic step where you’re smushed together? Then this class is for you! We’ll be working on basic footwork and technique that will enable you to dance Balboa all night long! |
| Lindy Dips & Tricks | Say Goodbye to Camp with a few fun steps under your belt! Followed immediately by the Closing Ceremony and Lindy Games! |
| O Lindy | Allen will show you how to do his signature style of flowing turns and sweeping movements. Its lindy in the round. |
| Solo Charleston/Jazz | Dive into the aesthetics of Lindy Hop with these solo charlston jazz move that will bring flavor to your partner dancing as well. |
| Tada! Lindy Magic | Lindy moves that make the audience go, “how did they do that?” |
| Transitions Galore | Develop fluid transitions that will enable you to seamlessly switch from Balboa to Lindy Hop/East Coast/Boogie Woogie/Charleston and back! |
